Night in the City...

Despite the fact that it's been nearly 2 months since my last post, I have not dropped off the face of the earth. Life has just been very busy and blog posts don't end up at the top of my "to do" list!

This past week Bob and I had the pleasure of dinner and a live show in San Francisco, a gift from all our kids. We had a delicious seafood dinner at the Spinnaker in Sausalito, where we had a corner table with floor to ceiling glass looking out over the bay. Although the weather was hazy we enjoyed watching several boats sail closely by as well as watching a sea lion and assorted birds just out our window.

At the Orpheum Theater we saw the Disney musical, Newsies. It was amazing - the dancing, music and creative stage props. It is based on the true story of a rag-tag group of orphans delivering the daily news in 1899 New York City, who stand up to Joseph Pulitzer, newspaper tycoon, for fair and reasonable treatment. It is definitely a "stand up and cheer" kind of story, with incredible dance choreography and music!

In spite of such advanced CGI and special effects on the screen these days, there is something mesmerizing about a live stage performance!

Some hazy views of the city skyline from the restaurant.

Our window table and a sailboat that cruised by.
My delicious grilled seafood - there were prawns, scallops, halibut and salmon...Yumm!
The Orpheum, as we were arriving after dark. The neighborhood is definitely a little sketchy!
A great show and a memorable evening... Thanks, kids!
